That would be a better solution, however since I will first be spending a nice holiday in portugal for the next week or so and then have some important tests, this will have to do for now! ![]()
jep, you're right!
as soon as someone makes a new final logo, I will add a nice favicon to the page ![]()
Please update your bookmarks, this site is now available through www.xinha.org
If anyone would like an email forwarder with @xinha.org, please send me an email. I will not be making any real pop3 boxes due to lack of diskspace.
Grtz,

done... is registered! also, I can make some nice email addy's for the admin etc.. or forwarders or whatever, I run a little hosting company so I basically have full control over the domain ![]()
Happy to be able to contribute! Will let everyone know when registration is final and domain is active!
These are available:
xinha.org
xinha.biz
xinha.info
xinha.be
xinha.name
xinha.nl
Any preference? Make your suggestions and I will register today, before some other joker does it!
I wanted to register xinha.com today and provide it as a gateway to this site, however it turns out that it has already been registered and it doesn't look like it's going to be used for xinha.
I'll try some other domains as well, and if there's a nice one, I'll register it for Xinha... just my contribution! ![]()

this looks VERY nice... I still haven't gotten around to updating to Xinha, and I probably won't have time in the near future, but I will most definately be implementing this plugin as well! great job! demo looks cool!
I have seen this same behaviour every now and then in HTMLArea 2, only in IE of course... running WinXPSP1, IE6SP2
It makes me believe that it is a IE bug, doesn't seem like something JS could do... maybe I'm wrong!
I don't mean to spam or anything, but the improvements some are suggesting for the image manager are already available in another WYSIWYG editor, which is also open-source (works with mozilla/IE/etc, has all the same features and more). Since this is not meant to be a spam post, I will not post the url. Contact me if you want more details.
However, I have been using HTMLArea 2 for some time, also using Wei's image manager, and so far it has done the job, but I guess rather sooner than later I will have to upgrade to a new version which is Mozilla compatible. My personal preference for Wei's image manager would be to rewrite it from scratch, and the suggestion to use the same function calls everywhere seems like a good idea. Maybe also make use of classes? If I recall correctly, the old version of image manager didn't use classes, I could be wrong though.. ![]()
I don't know if you read mishoo's article on closures, but he suggests a way around it, it leaves you with the same functionality, but it solves the IE memory leak....
I noticed this 'feature', I was just too tired to pay any attention to it, however it doens't seem like the best solution to leave it open to someone, I suggest you completely restrict access ASAP...
someone even posted a ticket about this...
you could program the script to only request pages at certain intervals, would be nice for reference, since there are also many many problems and solutions in those forums, that could be very helpful to everyone!
Done! Submitted the enhancement request!
Sorry if I was a little unclear (I was pretty damn tired when I wrote that), I meant that I would like to see the flash plugin implemented, I could quite easily convert that into something usefull for myself...
The flash object sounds very interesting, but then for a different purpose. I've actually been considering implementing something similar in my CMS.
I'll try to explain. In my CMS I make use of custom modules. So when on a certain page you want to display something that needs to be generated by php, you can write a module for that, and call for that module from anywhere in the text or put it somewhere in the templates. As has been said before, before the final page is displayed to the visitor, the page is quickly scanned for these special module tags with a regexp (php) and then the code is replaced with the appropriate output.
However, since it is also possible to send certain variables to the module upon loading, it would nice if some sort of insertion dialog would be present and an image placeholder would be displayed.
The current 'tags' look as follows:
{{module_name?key1=value1&key2=value2&key_N=value_N}}
Images are nicer, I could even use gd library to display the name of the module that is being loaded...
I'd definately like to see this implemented, should I add a ticket then?
Hey,
found you through the signature of Mirical Bernd on HTMLArea.com.
I've been using version 2 for ages now, but due to IE;s buggyness and the popularity of other browsers such as mozilla, the time has come to upgrade. I was glad to see that HTMLArea was revived a couple of weeks ago and was hoping that the initial idea to post a new RC every friday would be met so that in due time a final and stable version of HTMLArea 3 would be released, since I simply cannot use a beta version (or RC for that matter) in my production environment CMS.
When I checked in again today to look for new developments, I was sad to see some people seemed to be argueing over some things. Inspite of all that, it seems like this is the place to be. Reading all sleemanj's (gogo) posts on HTMLArea you seem like a very capable programmer with lots of potential and ideas. So therefore I just wanted to say that I really appreciate your effort and hope the new Xinha will be better than HTMLArea ever was.
